ELF Tinted Lip Oil Review:

So, I’ve been Marshall’s hopping from store to store trying to find the gorgeous Anastasia Beverly Hills Aurora Palette, but had no such luck finding it. All good. I’ll take it as a sign that it wasn’t meant to be. However, I did find quite the spread of ELF Cosmetics (foundation, highlighter, bronzer palettes, concealers, bb creams, lipsticks, beautifully bare blushes, and the list goes on) at every store I visited, and I grabbed two of their Tinted Lip Oils. I wanted to try these for a while now. Somehow, they always tend to slip my mind when ordering online. Curse those new releases! I get distracted every time. Smh. Lol. Originally, Elf’s Tinted Lip Oil retails for $6 each. I snagged them for $1.99. Score!!!!

Cherry Kiss is a cool pinkish red.

Fuchsia Kiss is a warm hot pink.

These two shades are discontinued from the collection, but there are 9 beautiful shades to choose from if you’re into lip oils. I’m not a fan. I thought the Lip Oils were going to set as a soft stain, showing a bit of sheen, while giving my lips hydration. I thought wrong. Whoopsie Daisy.

Product Description:

This Tinted Lip Oil adds a beautiful sheer shine to your lips. Each shade is infused with Jojoba, Apricot, and Vitamin E to nourish and hydrate your lips with each application.

The formulation is lightweight, creamy, smooth, comfortable to wear, sheerly pigmented, applies evenly and easily, keeps lips super hydrated, and sets in a glossy finish that does not migrate off the lips.

Where it fell short for me was the longevity. I literally applied these and within 30 min the glossy tint completely faded. I can’t even make the excuse that I had anything to eat or drink because I didn’t. Elf got the hydration thing down though. My lips stayed soft and silky smooth for part of the day without feeling the need to re-apply any kind of balm.

I’m not in anyway disappointed with my purchase. I only paid $4 for two tinted lip oils and was curious as to how they performed. I will keep them around as lip toppers for my drier formulated matte lipsticks. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Have you tried Elf’s Tinted Lip Oil?

What are your thoughts? Yay or nay?

Elf Cosmetics Beauty Shield Setting Powder Review:

Happy Saturday glamour babes! What do you do when you go through your entire stash of setting powders like they have gone out of style? You don’t walk, you run or drive like a mad women to the nearest Elf Cosmetics Store and try their new Beauty Shield Setting Powder ($8.00 for 0.28 Ounces).

I always gotta have a setting powder on hand. I’m pretty co-dependent on them if you can’t tell. Lol. My skin is super oily/acne prone and this one has been keeping my t-zone and blemishes under wraps quite well.

This loose powder provides sheer, lightweight coverage and can be worn alone for a natural look, or used as a makeup setting powder. The velvety soft texture helps even skin tone, and minimize the appearance of pores for a flawless finish. Formulated with key antioxidants, Licorice Extract, Vitamin E, Vitamin C to help protect your skin against everyday environmental aggressors.

Formulated without:

***Cruelty free and VEGAN!!!!*** Yippie!

Elf’s Beauty Shield Setting Powder comes in two shades-Sheer Natural or Sheer Golden. I bought Sheer Natural. Sheer Golden looked like it was more for medium to deep complexions.

The powder is really nice. Its super smooth, finely milled, lightweight, sheer, has a silky texture. It’s easy to apply, easy to blend, comfortable to wear, sets in a natural/matte finish, does not cake, crack or settle into fine lines, and is suitable for all skin types.

Good thinking Elf with the dial design for less product waste. I like that I can control the amount of powder I need to create a flawless face, while blurring some skin imperfections in the process.

I love how it melts right into the skin after application. It doesn’t come off as chalky or powdery, nor does it leave you looking Casperish.

I do happen to use this setting powder both ways-alone and on top of my makeup to lock everything in place, followed by a setting spray. My complexion is perfection afterwards.

I get about 8 hours of wear time, and my skin stays intact most of the day. Towards the end I start to notice oil peeking through the t-zone area, but that’s fixable.

Definitely check this setting powder out. It’s completely affordable and gets the job done nicely.

Elf Cosmetics Pop of Glitter Gel Review:

Elf Cosmetics Pop of Glitter Gel ($4 for 0.29 fl oz.) is going to give those lips all the more reason to celebrate for the holidays glamour babes! It has the right amount of sparkle to make anyone’s spirit bright.

This multi-dimensional liquid glitter is perfect for using as a highlighter, eyeshadow, eyeliner, or lip color for an instant pop of glitter on the skin. This glitter gel can be worn alone or on top of existing products to transform any matte or glossy texture to a sparkling metallic finish.

The Pop of Glitter Gel is available in 5 shades-Golden Glitz, Turquoise Twilight, Twinkle Pink, Rose Gold, and Gilded Bronze.

Since it is a new item, I went the safe route and purchased one-Twinkle Pink. I will be ordering the other four shades. I absolutely love this glitter gel! You can create a lot of different looks.

Twinkle Pink is a clear based gel with a pink and gold sparkle shift.

The micro fine glitter formula is lightweight, comfortable to wear, easy to apply, slick textured, non-sticky, blendable, not all that buildable, has sheer pigmentation, dries quickly, and sets in a matte finish. When a gloss is applied on top of Twinkle Pink it replicates Becca’s Liquid Crystal Glow Topper ($22) in Rose Quartz x Seashell quite nicely. Just sayin.

Due to its sheerness, it doesn’t exactly work well as an eyeshadow or liner alone. It barely showed through. But, if you wear it on top of something with deeper pigmentation then you’ll get a pretty subtle glittering effect. Think rich matte shadows or a sultry black cat eye. Meow! I will say this looks beautiful on top of Elf’s Holographic Highlighter Duo as well. The duo chrome definitely stands out now, especially in the light. And, you can wear this alone or on top of your favorite lipsticks.

Elf’s Pop of Gel Glitter looks gorgeous on a matte red lip. Get that mistletoe ready boys and girls! This is one lip that can give a million kisses and not fade away for it is transfer-proof, and lasts over 8 hours. Eat, Drink and be merry!

Elf Cosmetics Pop of Glitter Gel is available at elfcosmetics.com.

Don’t be afraid to sparkle a little brighter.
