Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter Palette Review:

Happy November glamour babes! Halloween may be over, but I still got a treat in store for you! Urban Decay’s After Glow Highlighter Palette ($34 for 0.64oz) is sure to make you scream. In a good way though. Lol.

I picked this up last Friday. Ulta was having some pretty nice hot buy deals going on, and this gorgeous palette happened to be on sale for $17!
Urban Decay Afterglow highlighters are one of my favorites. I own two of them. They leave a beautiful radiant glow on the skin and last for hours. So, of course I had to purchase their palette. Four shades for $17 instead of paying $26 for one?! Do you take visa?

The Afterglow Highlighter Palette comes housed in a slim square case (mirror included) that creates a shifting rose colored effect, depending on how the light hits it. A magnetic closure keeps the palette safely shut to prevent future makeup calamities in ones bag when traveling.

Shades include:

Bliss is a pale gold w/ golden shift

Peroxide is an iridescent pink

NSFW is a peachy pink

Side Piece is a golden peach

Infused with light diffusing pigments. The finely milled formula has a lightweight feel, and a super soft, creamy texture. The shades are sheer, but have high pigmentation. I hope that makes sense. It did in my head, lol. No matter how much you build, whether it’s a little or a lot. A lovely wash of color produces on the skin, and is accompanied by a gorgeous pearlized glow. They are comfortable to wear, easy to apply, go on smoothly, blendable, buildable, and flatter all skin tones.

The palette is completely customizable or you can wear the shades individually. Apply them to your cheekbones, brow bone, Cupid’s bow, and bridge of nose. However you choose, there’s no way you can go wrong. Its highlighter, create what makes you happy!

Wear time is all day, which is why I love UD Highlighters so much. They stay on the skin for hours (as mentioned before) and the glow looks just as good as when you first applied it. Sale or no sale, treat yoself to this palette. It’s a stunner on the complexion.

Urban Decay’s Afterglow Highlighter Palette is exclusively available at Ulta and UrbanDecayCosmetics.com.

Stay beautiful! Xo.

UD Jean Michel Basquiat Gallery Blush Palette Review:

If art is a form of self expression, than that makes makeup no exception to the phrase glamour babes. The UD Jean Michel Basquiat Gallery Blush Palette ($34, got on sale for $23.80) is truly a work of art as are the beautiful yet versatile blushes, highlighter and bronzer that are housed in this canvas wrapped palette. It actually has some weight to it. Talk about sturdy, lol.

FYI: Urban Decay created a little cutout on the back of the palette for hanging. That way you can create your own little art/makeup gallery on your wall! How creatively ingenious is that?!Man, I kinda regret not purchasing the entire collection. Oh well, there’s no use crying over spilled milk now. My heart is content with owning the Gallery Blush Palette.

About the artist: Jean-Michel Basquiat began drawing and painting at the age of four and never stopped. By the time he was in his teens, his graffiti was a fixture around lower Manhattan. After leaving home at 17, he began selling hand-painted postcards and T-shirts. At 20, he landed his first public exhibition and quickly rose to fame on the ’80s art scene in NYC. His iconic work is still exhibited all over the world.

Just reading his mini bio left me feeling inspired, and proves to never give up on your dreams. Set your intentions higher boys and girls. Everyone deserves to have a happy ending.

What colorful hues encompass this palette? Let me capture your imagination. After all, these four shades are based on Basquiat’s paintings.X-Rated is a light cotton candy pink.

Now’s the time is a nude shimmer with a gold shift

Jawbone is a medium terracotta bronze. This was a wee bit dark for my fair skin, but works lovely as a contour powder.

NOHO is a radiant berry.

By no means are these shades sheer. They are packed with bold pigment and compliment any skin tone. The finely milled, silky smooth formula is lightweight, buildable, blendable, comfortable to wear, easy to apply, produces no streaking or heavy caking, and sets in a satin matte finish.

I love this palette, and I didn’t think I was going to. I judged too quickly before testing them out, and thought the colors were too dark for my complexion when it arrived. I let my mind’s eye get the best of me. The shades can be manipulated easily. You can apply as little or as much as you like to achieve the desired intensity. Urban Decays long lasting formula is part of the reason why I am such a big fan of their cosmetics. They have it down to a fine art, so to speak. The Gallery blushes/highlighter/bronzer stay intact for 8 to 10 hours without having to retouch. Yaaasss!

Looks like this Palette is sticking around for awhile, not that I’m complaining. It’s stunning! Good thing I can nail it to the wall. As my saying goes-You can have your makeup and play with it too!

Stay beautiful! Xo.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush Obsessed and Crush Review:

Create a colorful ethereal glow that will last from dusk till dawn glamour babes with Urban Decay’s Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush ($26). This is part of Urban Decay’s permanent line they are creating for summer 2015 and I had to get in on the action. In total there are twelve tantalizing shades to choose from that range in three finishes; matte, satin and others carry a hint of shimmer to them. Out of the gorgeous bunch of colors that were presented to me at Sephora, I stuck with the more traditional shades that work best for my fair skin-tone, Obsession (light pink, matte) and Crush (medium pink, satin).  Each Afterglow Blush has a finely milled, super-soft texture that’s infused with light diffusing pigments to enhance skin’s radiance. Because the powder blush is of a thinner consistency I noticed a bit of kick-back dust when using my powder brush. It was very faint so hopefully I did not ruffle anyone’s feathers mentioning this bit of info; it’s makeup loosen up and have fun with it! The shades are beautifully vibrant, but they gave my skin just enough color to create a rosy radiant cheek. I enjoyed how each blush applied onto my skin; super smooth that blended in effortlessly creating streak-free cheeks that will last until the test of time. The eight long hours of wearable color Urban Decay promises is worth boasting about.

I am actually wearing obsession (photo to the left) right now as I am typing to you viewers and the color is still on my cheeks, sheer and vibrant as ever, even after hitting past the eight hour mark (sweeter than sweet!). Urban Decay designed the gunmetal compact with their UD junkies in mind, which features a see-through fishnet “UD” cutout on top of the lid so you can easily see the right shade that works for you! How nifty is that?!
From gorgeous eye popping pinks, to rosy mauves, to corally reds, and to peachy nudes this is one afterglow party your cheeks are gonna wanna be invited to. Stay beautiful! Xo.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer Review:

Oh how I love the look and feel of weightless naked skin in the morning glamour babes and you will too when you try Urban Decay’s naked skin weightless complete coverage concealer ($28). This seamless concealer is available in eight (8) selective shades that matches any skin-tone and is infused with Litchiderm. A plant extract that is derived from lychee fruit—which protects against dehydration, while sodium hyaluronate helps the skin attract and retain moisture, resulting in a brighter-looking complexion. I was thrilled to see that Urban Decay finally created a weightless full coverage concealer that acts like a foundation minus all the extra added weight to my face. Once again I was intrigued by Urban Decay’s notions and into my shopping basket the concealer went. I swear their brand has some kind of gravitational pull towards me as soon as I walk into Sephora (Oy). The practical and travel-friendly concealer is housed in a gorgeous sleek cylinder tube much like it’s little sister version of their Naked Skin weightless liquid makeup.

The doe foot wand makes applications to the skin precise and easy giving you the perfect amount of product each time creating a mess free situation. Urban Decay’s concealer is oil free, ultra lightweight, creamy and provides full even coverage in an instant! I purchased the concealer in the shade light medium neutral and went application crazy. I applied it to my face, eyes, and to a few areas on my chest. I worked a little blending magic and boom! All of my imperfections that are not my cup of tea to see were completely hidden; dark circles, redness, scars, blemishes were no more. What was left behind was soft, luminous skin that looked and felt naked to the touch with a demi-matte finish. One thing Urban Decay was dead on about was how buildable their naked skin concealer can be. No lie, I must have put on about 2 to 3 layers of concealer and there was absolutely no creasing or bulid-up of the sort. My skin flaws were invisible to the human eye and to myself as well (holla!). The wear of Urban Decay’s concealer lasts fairly well, about six hours before a freshly new coat needed to be applied to my skin. The lovely hydrating peptides that Urban Decay enriched into their concealer was definitely noticeable. My skin felt super hydrated and retained it’s moisture throughout the day leaving me with a sunny, dazzling complexion I always wish to have, and that’s the naked truth. Stay beautiful! xo.
