Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Color Corrector Review:

When Wet n Wild released their new Mega Cushion Color Corrector ($5.99), I knew I had to have all four immediately in my possession glamour babes.I have grown fond of these lovely little cushion compacts that have a ton of bounce and excellent color coverage.Unfortunately, I could not find the Mega Cushion Color Correctors at any Walgreens stores near my location, so I had to order them through Wet N Wild’s website and patiently wait. Thank god there are seven days in a week. If I had to wait any longer, my mailman would have felt the wrath of a makeup junkie, claws and all, lol. Sorry mailman!

I can safely say that Mr. Postman delivered my four neutralizing bouncy bundles of joy in one piece, and I was happily ready to play with them all.

Green counterbalances redness.Yellow counterbalances dullness or dark circles.Peach counterbalances dark circles or skin imperfections such as dark spots.

Lavender counterbalances sallowness (washed out complexion). The formulation is lightweight, creamy, pigmented, comfortable to wear, smooth, and they’re easy to blend and build when creating a natural healthy look. The Mega Cushion compacts include a nice cushiony applicator puff, but I found a blending sponge and small oval brush to be effective for even applications, or the tip of your finger to cover smaller areas.

I do love that these do not clog pores or produce a noticeably oily t-zone when wearing them throughout the day with other mediums (concealer, foundation, bb cream, face powder, etc….). My skin stayed intact without looking cakey or heavy for hours. I will say that I found the yellow corrector to be more useful than the peach corrector to neutralize dark circles. I felt the blue undertones my dark circles carry were concealed successfully with the application of concealer. The peach corrector works amazingly well on dark spots and deep discolorations. As for green and lavender? I have no complaints. The green cancels redness out effortlessly, and lavender will put the pep back into your complexion in no time flat.

Don’t forget boys and girls, Wet n Wild made their Mega Cushion collection friendly to all, including you veganites! May your day be as flawless as your makeup!

Stay beautiful, xo.

Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Matte Lip Cream Review:

Sigh, I really wanted to like Wet n Wild’s Mega Cushion Matte Lip Cream ($4.99) glamour babes, truly I did. I’m loving the whole cushion concept, but the swatches on my wrist did not appear as true on my lips.

The Mega Cushion Soft Matte Lip Cream is Wet n Wild’s new release for Spring 2017. The Collection also includes four Color Correctors, one highlighter, and one contour shade, which are now available at Walgreens and wetnwildbeauty.com.  FYI: The entire line is vegan.

I picked up all three shades, they were affordable enough so why not?! Melon It Like It Is, Bubblegum in Paradise, and Doll So Hard.

The enriched Shea butter formulation is fantastic. It is lightweight, moisturizing, creamy, smooth, comfortable to wear, buildable, and vibrant. Or so I thought. This is where the Mega Cushion Matte Lip Creams fell short for me. I was expecting the colors to be lively. These felt too pastelly.

Melon It Like It Is is a corally pink.

Bubblegum in Paradise is a purplish pink.

Doll So Hard is a hot pink.

Not one shade came nearly close to looking like the swatches I had taken or seen on the WNW website (photo below).I was a little disappointed. The colors seemed chalky, flat, and washed out. I thought it might have been me, but after trying for a month they were clearly the problem.

The round cushion applicator is great though. It lets you have complete control over the level of color intensity you want to achieve. Sadly, there wasn’t much color saturation in it for me. Womp, womp.

Color longevity was eh. The soft Matte pigment evenly held on at its best for 4 hours, only to leave behind a faint outline around the lips.

I guess I got what I paid for this time around. No big deal, it’s only makeup. Somethings don’t work out the same as it would for others. Fingers crossed the rest of Wet n Wild’s Mega Cushion line works out for me. Yes, I bought the entire collection that’s how obsessed I have become with makeup, lol.

Stay Beautiful! Xo.

Wet n Wild Photofocus Concealer and Pressed Powder Review:

Good news glamour babes, actually great news for you selfie queens! Wet n Wild has added new members to the Photofocus line, and its all about coverage, coverage, coverage! With their Photofocus Foundation, Concealer, and Pressed Powders! As I have mentioned before, It’s a rarity to see new makeup releases at the local drugstores (CVS, select Walgreens) near me this early in the year, especially when it’s Wet n Wild. I absolutely love their cosmetics, so when new releases are spotted, I buy! With not a care in the world. The Photofocus Concealer (light ivory) and Pressed Powder (neutral buff) peaked my interest more than the foundation. Into the basket they went, and this time I didn’t forget the toiletries I needed like the last time, lol.

Now what exactly are these supposed to do? Well, from the looks of the packaging, they are meant to help eliminate white particle reflections in face makeup released by flash photography, which creates a white cast in photos. Wet n Wild’s Photofocus Concealer and Pressed Powder (this also goes for the foundation) are specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection. The trio has been tested under 7 light conditions with and without the use of flash:

Clear Blue Sunlit Sky

Outdoors PM

Indoors PM

Electronic Flash

Fluorescent Light

Bathroom Light

Nightclub Light.

I have yet to experience photo flashback under my eyes, jaw line, or forehead, I feel that maybe a bit exaggerated, unless there is a blindingly over powering highlighter I missed out on, lol. It’s usually my t-zone that gets in the way of a good photo because of my oily skin. I also did not have the fun, exhausting opportunity to test my skin under 7 light conditions. I thought the bathroom would be the perfect light source, it is the crumbiest lighting in my apartment. You tell me, do I look softer? Any flash back? Does my skin look mattifyingly beautiful? Then I think it’s safe to say that Photofocus works!
Wet n Wild’s Photofocus Concealer ($3.99) has a lightweight, creamy formula that blends in evenly and easily providing medium coverage setting in a matte finish. Don’t be alarmed, when I applied this concealer onto my skin and started to blend, it looked pretty chalky. Let it set for 30 seconds before you have seconds thoughts and curse yourself that you wasted $4, you didn’t. Light Ivory is made for fair maidens, deep breathes. Whatever skin imperfections you may have and want to diffuse, this will take care of them including redness. You can wear this alone, with Foundation, or use the Photofocus Pressed Powder afterwards to smooth out your beautiful canvas that was created for selfies.
Wet n Wild’s Photofocus Pressed Powder ($4.99) is lightweight, has a baked like texture, and gives skin a subtle veil of smooth, silky coverage. I use this with the concealer and the combination of the two helps keep my makeup and skin matte all day with very little oil peeking through. I’m actually impressed by how well the powder sets. It does not feel cakey, dry, or settle into fine lines, and thats on top of the concealer. Everything blends perfectly together, giving skin a natural look and feel.

Overall, I give Wet N Wild’s Photofocus a B+. They could have done better with the pressed powder and concealer shade selections. Six to eight shades isn’t enough if there’s a wide color range for foundation. Shouldn’t there be an even amount of powders and concealers, to foundations? The line is still new so I’m sure there will be new shades added. Fingers crossed.

P.S. The entire line is vegan friendly! That deserves an A alone in my book.

Stay beautiful! Xo.

Wet n Wild Lash Renegade Mascara Review:

Wet n Wild’s Lash Renegade Mascara was a complete surprise to me when I saw it in Rite-Aid glamour babes. I had no idea they had come out with a new mascara, and I was very excited to try it. There has been so much hype about their latest release, the Megalast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks, that I own and love. But I heard nothing about a mascara launch. Its a good thing I needed a few toiletries, which I failed to get by the way because of the new mascara sighting, smh. Lol!

The one thing that makes Wet n Wild so great, apart from the amazing quality of their cosmetics is the affordability. Let’s hope this never changes. How much is this mascara you ask? Only $5.99! But thats not all (sorry for sounding like an infomercial)…..
The newfangled mascara wand really takes lashes to new heights. The ball tip adds volume with precision and control, while the main rod creates definition, length and curl. Albeit, I was a skeptic of the wand design. When removing the wand from the packaging, I thought to myself, how the heck is this ball and rod doohickey of a brush going to do everything it says? It looks clumsy and awkward, I may just poke my eye out with this thing! Maybe that’s why Wet n Wild kept this creation a secret, for fear it might be a flop? Who knows, all I can say is my skepticism proved me wrong. This mascara is sweeter than sweet! It is so easy to use, and seriously gives flimsy, lanky lashes a total makeover. Length, definition, curl, and volume is what you get with a few swipes of the wand. I could not believe it. The brush coated and caught every finely translucent blonde lash on my lids, including the teeny ones; lifting, separating, and lengthening them beautifully. You can kick those eyelash curlers to the curb too, Wet n Wild’s Lash Renegade is self curling! Don’t ask me how it works? It just does, and impeccably. Something’s are better left to the imagination, wink.

The formulation is lightweight, non-sticky, smudge-proof, safe for contact lens wearers, comes in one shade-Brazen Black, and it’s buildable. Take note, when applying extra coats it does take a bit longer to dry, roughly 3 minutes. Once dry, lashes are gorgeous with zero cakiness or flaking. I heart this mascara!

From what I can tell Wet n Wild’s Lash Renegade is slowly coming into drugstores so be on the lookout. Or, you can go to wetnwildbeauty.com and go rouge on their site if you can’t stand to wait. I do it all the time.

Stay beautiful! Xo.
