Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder Review:

Makeup Revolution’s Luxury Banana Powder ($8.00 for 1.5 oz at Ulta) is bananas glamour babes. B-A-N-A-N-A-S! I’m totally crushing on this pale yellow powder, my skin looks incredible! Fingers crossed this has or will do the same for you.

The lightweight velvety soft face powder helps correct redness and pink undertones while setting makeup and mattifying shine.

Shake the bottle before use. Loose powders tend to get a little lumpy, and this method will break down the powder so it can pass through the sieve top effectively.

I love to use this all over my face as a complexion booster. Oh yes, apart from setting makeup, Makeup Revolution’s Banana Powder knows how to brighten up skin beautifully. This can be used for contouring too. It shapes and defines features softly without creating harsh lines across the cheekbones or bridge of the nose. I find powder contour applications to be much more flattering than cream. Features look sculpted, but in a natural sense. I hope that makes sense, lol. I also love to use this underneath my eyes to keep concealer in place and to neutralize dark circles. Works like a charm.

If you do have oily skin and constantly battle with an oily t-zone on a daily basis, then you really need to invest in this $8.00 bottle. Skin literally stays matte for hours and hours. At the end of a 10 hour work shift, I barely have any shine or oil peeking through and my makeup looks flawless. And, you can apply as much as you want if need be. The Banana Powder does not cake, crease, or settle into fine lines. It’s microfine.

You do know that Makeup Revolution’s Luxury Banana Powder is an identical twin of Ben Nye’s Luxury Banana Powder, only $12 cheaper, right? ‘Tis trew! Both are translucent, mattifying, silky fine powders carrying a hint of banana color that compliments all skin tones.

How do you like them bananas?!

Too Faced No Filter Selfie Powders Review:

Get those iPhone cameras ready glamour babes, Too Faced No Filter Selfie Powders will make your Fridays look fresh and flawless! Say cheese!

The purpose of this palette is not to chisel your features with a sharp contour or bling out your skin with shimmer. That’s what Anastasia Beverly Hills is for, and she does an impeccable job at sculpting faces and creating a supernova glow. Too Faced No Selfie Filter Powders are intended to brighten, blur, and diffuse skin imperfections by using light fragment technology as TF likes to call it, creating a photo filter finish. Use Sunrise, Totally Toasted, and Moon River individually or all together for ultimate selfie gratification!

I really do enjoy using the selfie powders when special occasions and social gatherings arise, much like tonight. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned Halloween party to make things memorable by camera, and something your friends will never make you forget, gotta love em, lol. Good thing I have these powders to create the picture perfect complexion, I’m ready for my closeup, give me everything you got! Flash me baby!

Sunrise creates brightness, love this shade for dark circles or allover alone.

Totally Toasted brings a little warmth to the face.

Moon river can be applied allover or to areas of the face to create a subtle illuminating glow.

The powders are lightweight, buttery soft, finely milled, and have sheer pigment, giving skin a natural soft focus glow.
I use all three when I choose to wear these powders and they blend well. Sunrise brightens my eyes, Totally Toasted gives warmth to my cheekbones, while Moon River produces a faint icy ethereal glow to my complexion. I would use a stiffer, more dense brush to pick up the powders. A powder brush barely caught any pigment when I was applying. I found my kabuki and oval brushes worked best. See!

When trying these for the first time, I was actually surprised by how well the No Filter Selfie Powders withstood throughout the day. All day wear with just an oily t-zone came about, not a big deal, blotting papers are always on hand.

I will agree with other reviewers that this palette is not exactly worth the $32 sale price on the TF website. It might be for you selfie lovers out there who take great pleasure being in front of the camera, and that’s cool, but for me it’s something I don’t use on a regular basis. $15 sounds a bit more reasonable, and Nordstrom Rack is the place to get it for such a price. And would you look at that, you have more than enough in your pocket to treat yourself to a coffee and scone, or more makeup! Lol.

Have a spooktacular Halloween weekend!

Stay beautiful! Xo.

ELF Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder (fair/light) Review:

You know what’s the best way to rid of the Monday blues glamour babes?! Makeup! And, I think ELF’s Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder maybe the cure to turn that frown upside down!

This is another newbie that has been added to ELF’s Beautifully Bare line, and it’s described to do the following via their website:

*Creates a flawless natural look

*Provides light coverage and sets makeup

*Helps mattify skin and minimize the appearance of fine lines.

Is this $6 finishing powder worth buying and trying???

Yes! I can confidently say that this face powder makes a world of difference on ones complexion especially those with combination/oily skin, like me!
FYI: To really blur and soften skins texture, use ELF’s 3 in 1 makeup base underneath their finishing powder. Skin that looked flawless, looks even more flawless!

I hope that make sense, lol. If not think Photoshop and filters, get the picture? Awesome!

ELF’s Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder is housed in a sturdy plastic reflective silver compact that has a secret compartment inside stashing away a powder puff for when you need to powder your nose, and it has a full size mirror.

There are four shades to choose from that should work for everyone’s skin tone, fair/light, light/medium, medium/dark, and dark/deep.

I usually favor the shade light-medium when it comes to ELF Cosmetics, but the powder looked a bit yellow when testing it out, so I opted for fair/light instead, and it surprisingly matched up perfectly against my complexion. I love powders that don’t produce a chalky, ghoulish, Casperish appearance after application, and this one doesn’t!

ELF’s Finishing Powder has a silky formula with lightweight coverage providing a subtle tint of color without an SPF, making it very comfortable to wear and easy to use. Use the makeup sponge that comes equipped in the compact or a blending brush, and apply the powder all over the face in circular motions, it’s as simple as that! I used ELF’s Blending Brush, which created flawless, even coverage, along with long lasting wear, zero clogged pores, and no breakouts. I didn’t have to powder my nose or nothing all day when wearing this, my skin stayed beautifully matte for 8 hours strong.

Did those frowns get turned upside down?! I sure hope so, ELF’s Beautifully Bare Finishing Powder is totally worth smiling over.

Stay beautiful! Xo.

Girlactik Beauty Heaven’s Dust Angel Gold Review:

Hello, hello glamour babes! I’m so excited to talk about Girlactik Beauty’s Heaven’s Dust in Angel Gold. This is another cruelty free/vegan makeup company I found through Instagram that you simply must follow, their makeup is beautiful. If you don’t believe me you can always check out a Duane Reade near you and scope out the goods for yourself (wink). I am such a sucker for packaging especially ones that are girly and pretty like Girlactik’s.

How pretty and detailed is that lovely little damask box?! So cute, right?! I’m getting off topic, let’s focus on what’s inside the box, Heaven’s Dust, and boy is it heavenly, I can hear the angels singing right now (harps playing in background), lol.

Angel Gold is a soft shimmery peachy gold powder with small flecks of green, purple and gold sparkle.

The formulation of the powder is finely milled, loose, light weight, and silky producing a soft iridescent shine when applied, and is compatible for all skin tones. You can dust this shimmering highlighter powder on your décolletage, shoulders, and even your face, giving skin a lustrous glow. Girlactik ain’t kiddin when they say “This dust is like having crystals on your skin, it’s very glam in a sophisticated way!” Their description of Heaven’s Dust is on point! I loved seeing my skin glisten in the light.

The faint crystal effect felt magical, like I was Cinderella being transformed into a princess, thanks Girlactik Godmother, now where’s my Prince Charming?! Lol. I would not wear this powder as an everyday highlighter, I deem it more appropriate for night time, or for a special occasion, you know, weddings, birthday parties, happy celebrations. Heaven’s Dust is a wee bit sparkly for the office, unless you’re trying to go for the fairy sprinkled a little bit of pixie dust look, by all means go for it, I support your creativity, I’m only saying it was a little much for me.

To my surprise when opening Girlactiks clear sturdy container there was no powder puff that came equipped. I did not mind this, I never use them, too much product collects on the puff making a huge mess and waste of a good highlighter powder.

I prefer a powder brush to produce concise and even applications, granted there is some kickback due it being loose, but it’s not as bad when using a powder puff. Remember my trick, tap the container on a hard surface to bring the product back down into the container.

The wear of Girlactiks heavenly dust lasts a good solid 8 hours before the sparkling shimmer dims down, not bad at all for a $19 (4.50g/0.16 oz.) container of pixie dust, and a little goes a long way, so this should last you awhile.

So far Girlactik Beauty has won me over, I’m excited to see what their Face Glow and Star gloss has to offer, reviews to come!

Stay beautiful! Xo.
