ELF Cosmetics Highlighting Holographic Duo Review:

Elf Cosmetics has released some cool new holographic items recently glamour babes and their Highlighting Holographic Duo ($8.00 for 0.32oz) is one of them!

Let’s check it out!

Get a radiant, iridescent glow with this Prismatic Highlighting duo. Perfect for wearing alone or layering, this buildable, luminescent formula reflects light to make your highlight pop.

Cruelty Free and Vegan! Yay!

Elf’s Holographic Highlighter Duo comes in three shades-Mermaid Tail, Blue Lagoon, and Sirens Call.

I obviously went the mermaid route and purchased Mermaid Tail. Remember, Always be yourself unless you can be a mermaid. Then always be a mermaid. Or a unicorn. I don’t discriminate against the two. Lol.

Mermaid tail is a pale cotton candy pink and a sheer lavender duo.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a holographic highlighter, there is no shade shifting. It’s more pearlescent. But, if you mix the two together it’ll give off a sheer duo chromatic glow.

The formulation is lightweight, smooth, comfortable to wear, easy to apply, blends well, somewhat buildable, has soft pigmentation, flatters all skin tones, and gives skin an iridescent finish.

I actually love that the glow isn’t as intense as some of the highlighters I own. These pastel hues are great for everyday wear, I like the subtlety they create. You get the perfect amount of radiance along with a lovely touch of color. Now where did I put my clam shell bra? Being a human is getting too complicated for me. I’m ready to explore the deep blue underworld. Oh, can’t forget the fins. Lol.

Wear time is about 5 hours. Not as long as Elf’s other highlighters, but the longevity is there, and skin still glows a bit after fading.

Elf’s Highlighting Holographic Duo is available at ELF Stores and elfcosmetics.com

Think you’ll swim on over to get one?

Do tell!

Sending you mermaid kisses and starfish wishes!

Stay beautiful! Xo.

The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream Review:

Happy Monday glamour babes! Did you miss me?! Sorry I was MIA for so long. I had a lot going on, but now I’m back and we can return to our regularly scheduled program-makeup reviews!

Up for discussion, The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream ($12 for 0.34 fl. oz). I received this as a PR sample for reviewing purposes. I never heard of The Beauty Crop before, and was over the moon that they reached out to me to try their cosmetics. Who doesn’t love makeup samples?! Especially the cruelty free kind!

INGREDIENTS: water (aqua), glycerin, acrylates copolymer, triethanolamine, ananas sativus (pineapple) fruit extract, camellia sinensis (green tea) leaf extract, phenoxyethanol. [+/- (may contain) (peut contenir) mica, titanium dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77891)]

The Beauty Crop’s Philosophy……

Our philosophy is that nutrition is as equally essential for your skin as it is for your body. Inspired by the healthy recipes we cook in the kitchen, we are passionate about creating colourful, fun and uber-hydrating cosmetics that include nutrition-rich superfood ingredients (natural oils and plant based) that promote health and wellbeing.

Our products are 100% cruelty-free. We do not test on animals, only on friends and family!

If you want beautiful, fun, guilt-free, high-performing color cosmetics that won’t just make you look good but feel good too, look no further than The Beauty Crop!

I love, love, love their philosophy! It’s a great feeling to know that some cosmetic companies actually do care about what they put into their products, and are conscious of the ingredients. They get a gold star in my book, and a smiley face.

TBC Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream comes in one shade-Love you so matcha. I don’t even think I need to describe the way I feel about this highlighter. The shade name speaks volumes lol. Hopefully, TBC will whip up some more shades. I really like this highlighter cream. Maybe something in the gold family? Hint, hint, wink, wink.

Love you so matcha is a soft, sheer pearly pink. It has light capturing, micronized, pearlescent pigments to give you a youthful and healthy glow.

The oil free formula is lightweight, creamy, comfortable to wear, easy to apply, blendable, buildable, pigmented, hydrating, doesn’t feel greasy or sticky, flatters all skin tones, and has an infusion of powerful antioxidants from Pineapple and Green Tea to nourish skin.

The tube is rather tiny for what you get, but a little does goes a long way with this product.

I use a mini blending sponge with a dabbing motion to accentuate my cheek bones, Cupid’s bow, brow area, and bridge of the nose. You can also use this as a cream eyeshadow for a sheer wash of color and shimmer on the lids, or mix it with your favorite foundation for a luminous look. It’s very pretty.

Color payoff is 8 hours. I did not think it would last all day through. I never have much luck with cream or liquid highlighters. Usually for me because I have oily skin, they wear off in like four hours. Not this one though. My skin looked so fresh and dewy the whole day. You might wanna give it try, just sayin…..

The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream is available on their website at www.thebeautycrop.com.

Makeup Revolution Ghost Lights Highlighter Review:

As Halloween quickly creeps upon us, and we scurry for last minute accessories this weekend to complete our ghastly creations. I thought Makeup Revolution Ghost Lights Highlighter ($6.00) would be an otherworldly finishing touch to unearth out of the makeup grave yard.

Ghost Lights is an iridescent pearlescent white highlighter with a pink shift. Add to your cheekbones, bridge of nose, cupids bow and brow bone for a beautiful spine chilling glow that will leave everyone gasping, including myself. Lol.

The baked formula is lightweight, finely milled, super pigmented, smooth, comfortable to wear, blendable, buildable, easy to apply, and compliments all skin tones.
I have been wearing Ghost Lights everyday this week and I love it. It’s a pretty versatile highlighter for daytime wear if you go light handed with the application. I also apply it to the inner corner of my eyes for an extra pop of brightness. That should keep those pesky vampires away. No one is going to suck anyone’s blood today or any day for that matter, so be gone! Shoo, scat! I got eau de parfum of garlic too!

The wear time is a little short lived. Five hours, but it fades nicely into a soft dewy pearl glow. If you need a spellblinding glow through All Hallows’ eve. Just throw Makeup Revolution Ghost Lights into your bag of tricks and treats. It’s completely travel friendly and makes good company.

Hop on your broomsticks and fly on over to Ulta. Makeup Revolution Ghost Lights Highlighter is soon to vanish, for Halloween only comes but once a year.

Stay beautiful witches! Xo.

Beauty Bakerie So Icy Illuminator Review:

Beauty Bakeries So Icy Illuminator ($32 for 0.46oz) left me feeling a wee bit freezer burned glamour babes. And by freezer burned, I mean frosty and glittery. It was a little much for my taste.

I thought the illuminator was going to be more pearlized when I went by the swatches online. Turns out, it is not.

Iced is a luminous (blinding) white highlighter that has hints of micro fine pink shimmer with a frosted finish. Indoor and Outdoor swatches.

I felt like a walking snow globe as I wore this shade of winter wonderland. I was sparkling from head to toe, and not in a flattering way really. Wearing the So Icy Illuminator made me feel kiddish. Like I was trying too hard to create a incandescent glow. The sparkles is what makes the glow look overwhelming. There was too much churning going on in that tiny ice cream inspired container. I think it would have been a successful treat if that part was taken out of the formulation.

I could deal with a frosted finish. It can sometimes come off as pearlized, depending on the intensity, but those two together only produced a massive glitter bomb on my face. I definitely think that this illuminator is targeted for a much younger crowd.

Complimenting all skin tones. The super finely milled loose powder formula is lightweight, highly pigmented, comfortable to wear, not so easy to apply, blendable, buildable, and has a smooth silky texture.

The loose powder makes a mess of everything. The directions seem pretty simple on the lid. Tap top, open slowly.

Okay, Yup, I followed as directed, and as I tapped ever so gently, illuminator started to shimmy its way outside the lid, and upon opening it, a lovely plume of highlighter dust emerged. Sparkles, sparkles here and there, sparkles, sparkles, everywhere! Including myself. Applying Beauty Bakeries So Icy Illuminator with a brush was no easy task either. The kickback gets allover. Is this an expensive party popper gag that I don’t know about? Lol. It sure felt like it. I found using the flat end of a blending sponge helped prevent a lot of fallout to occur during applications.

The color payoff is alright. I got about 5 hours of wear time before it fully faded away. I did not re-apply. I have an oily t-zone and the shimmer only enhanced my shine, which is something I can do without.

If throwing a glitter party is one of your favorite things to do, then you can grab a pint sized So Icy Illuminator at Asos, Forever21, and BeautyBakerie.com.

I’ll be there. Watching the fun unfold…….That’s if an invitation is extended my way. Hint, hint, wink, wink.

Stay beautiful! Xo.
