NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder Review:

You gotta try these NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders (available at Ulta and NYX Cosmetics for $8.00 each) glamour babes, they illuminate your features beautifully.
Available in five shades (Snow Rose, Twilight Tint, Lavender Steel, Crushed Bloom, and Synthetica) the silky powder blends like a dream for a fresh-faced look. The formula’s light catching pearls deliver a luminous finish that looks different form every angle. NYX is speaking truth. Apply this lightweight, buttery soft highlighter along the highest points of the face so you could see what NYX is talking about-such as the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and Cupid’s bow. Now marvel at the duo chromatic glow in which you created.

Out of the five, I purchased Snow Rose and Twilight Tint. I thought these two shades in particular had unique hues, and would be flattering on fair to light skin tones.
Snow Rose is a white base with pink and lilac duo chromatic pearls.
Twilight Tint- is a white base with blue duo chromatic pearls.
I know this is going to sound corny, but I felt like a Disney princess wearing these shades, lol! Wanna know which ones?! Sleeping beauty and that chick from Frozen. You know, the one that sings let it go, and everything she touches turns to ice. What’s her face??? Ah! Elsa. Totally felt like an ice queen as I wore Twilight Tint. Snow Rose and Twilight Tint are breathtakingly enchanting. Depending on how the light hit my face, I loved seeing the icy white base shift to a soft pink/lilac or an icy blue. These duo chromatic powders truly live up to their name.

Apart from the formula being lightweight and buttery smooth. It is also finely milled (kickback alert!), has gorgeous pigmentation, it’s easy to build up, and blends well.
I did notice a little fading, but after 8 to 10 hours of wear that’s bound to happen. My face still had the stunning effect of a duo chrome highlighter, only softer.

Bottom line- I would most definitely recommend NYX’s Duo Chromatic Illuminating powder to just about anyone who loves to strobe. They are so pretty to play with, and are currently on sale at Ulta. Yep, it’s that time again, BOGO! Yay! All you need to do is click on the pink and my site will link you to the rest. Sale ends 5/14.

Happy hauling!

Makeup Revolution Strobe Highlighter (Holographic Lights) Review:

Makeup Revolutions Strobe Highlighter ($6.00 for 0.26 oz) is one of the many new highlighters they’ve launched at Ulta Beauty. Of course I had to take action and buy one to test out glamour babes. Hey, for the price it was the feasible thing to do. Lol.

Their light powder highlighter gives a natural illumination to the skin by diffusing the light, and boy does it!

Holographic Lights is a white gold duochrome with a green and yellow flip.

Wanna see the Aurora Borealis? Just dust some of this on your face and you will be taken to an incredible light show. Oh yea, this shade is that beautiful and compliments all skin tones.

This highlighter can be applied either wet or dry to create different intensities.
The baked highlighter has somewhat of a rough texture, but goes on velvety smooth setting in a pearlized finish. There are no glittery or shimmery particles reflecting through Holographic Lights whatsoever. The formula is lightweight, highly pigmented, blendable, buildable, and is easy to apply with either a highlighter brush or damp blending sponge.

My skin is pretty fair so I had no problem building color to facial areas (brows arch, inner corners of eyes, Cupid’s bow, and cheeks) dry. I was happy with the soft holographic Aurora glow I had created.

Wet was a no go for me. The look was too intense. I felt (a little green) like I was morphing into Kermit the frog or possibly Gumby. Ahhhh, the characters I cherished most as a child, Lol. The green definitely stands out more than the yellow in this highlighter when wet. I think it would look best on deeper complexions.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the color payoff is not good. I know! There are so many positives to this highlighter and the one negative had to be the longevity. How could such a beautiful highlighter have a life span of only 2 hours?! Uggggh, beyond frustrating. Well, seeing that Makeup Revolutions Strobe Highlighter has great buildable quality, I can always incorporate it with other highlighters. I’m not giving up on this one. It’s too gorgeous not to apply.

Have you tried any of the MUR Strobe Highlighter shades- Gold Addict, Moon Glow Lights, Ever Glow Lights, this one?

How do you feel about them?

Stay beautiful! Xo.

Makeup Revolution Skin Kiss Review:

2017 has been the year of the highlighters glamour babes! I know thats what the main focus has been on my blog lately, but can you blame me? All of them are gem finds. Just take a look at Makeup Revolution’s Skin Kiss Highlighters-perfect examples! Ice Kiss, Golden Kiss, and Peach Kiss are stunners, and they’re huge for $9.00! Are they reminding you of a certain high-end highlighter brand everyone is going gaga for? Does Jeffree Star Skin Frost ring a bell? You thought correctly my dearies. The $29 highlighter has a dupe! Ice Cold is Ice Kiss. Peach Goddess is Peach Kiss, and Siberian Gold is Golden Kiss or it could possibly be King Tut, depending on the skin tone in my opinion. The crushed pigment highlighter brightens and adds a natural touch of illumination to the skin throughout the year. I better get started on my glow then! I’d love to shine 365 days a year! It’ll match my glowing personality! Lol.

Ice Kiss is a bright silvery white.

Golden Kiss is a warm champagne gold.

Peach Kiss is a warm peachy pink.

When swatching these Skin Kiss beauties I loved how buttery smooth the texture was as I glided each hue across my wrist. The pigmentation is outstanding! The finely milled formula lets you layer the shades to reach your glowing achievement easily and effortlessly making them suitable for all skin tones.

Makeup Revolution’s Skin Kiss Highlighters aren’t very shimmery or sparkly if that is something you are worried about. Because the formula is finely milled they produce a metallic to pearlized finish, which is attractive on any complexion. I adore these types of finishes. You don’t end up looking like a glittery disco ball by days end. Your skin looks like it’s been gently kissed by the glow of these beautiful highlighters.

The color payoff is good. I got about 6 hours of wear for each Skin Kiss Highlighter and I was happy by their performance.

I’d like to see more shades come into play. Makeup Revolution needs to get on that stat! For the price and size, three colors is simply not enough for a highlighter junkie who loves a sun-kissed glow all year round.

You can grab these dazzlers at Ulta Beauty.

Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Glow-y Powder Review:

If Pixi + Aspyn Ovard’s Glow-y Powder isn’t the perfect depiction of a highlighter, then I don’t know highlighters anymore glamour babes. All three shades Aspyn created with Petra are incredibly stunning! I received all three Glow-y Powders (Rome Rose, Santorini Sunset, and London Lustre) as PR Samples along with the rest of the Pixi Pretties Collection. You would have thought a wild animal was loose in my apartment after the way I squealed with joy when this package arrived, lol. It was beautiful, and my heart is still grateful for Petra’s generosity.

You can grab these at Target or PixiBeauty.com for $16, and they’re well worth the price for the size. The velvety soft powder adds a hint of glow, creating a luminous effect. Each highlighter has natural mineral powder that hydrates and reflects light to brighten your complexion.

Rome Rose is a corally rose with gold shimmer. This shade can be worn as a blush or highlighter. I’ll be using this one more for the summer.

Santorini Sunset is a classic champagne.London Lustre is an icy white gold. These apply like buttah!!! You know how I love to use that term in a sentence whenever I get the chance. The texture is soooooo buttery. I’m getting verklempt thinking about it, lol! Spread on as much highlighter as you like boys and girls. The finely milled (surprisingly no kickback) formula is lightweight, soft, silky smooth, buildable, and packed with pigment. Aspyn made these powders suitable for all skin tones, and they set in a lovely pearlized finish. I do enjoy that these don’t overwhelm my face with full blown sparkly bits and eye blinding shine. They give off a healthy incandescent glow, and remain that way for a solid 7 hours without becoming streaky or patchy. The hydration is there too, which I think would work nicely towards drier skin. The glow-y powders do have a faint almost to nothing soft floral (rosy) scent that lingers in the pan not on the skin. I wanted to make note of that in case some have sensitive sniffers or do not care for scents in their cosmetics.

Well done Aspyn for your successful collaboration with Pixi Beauty! I hope these will stick around for awhile.

What are your Pixi Pretty Favorites?! Aspyn Ovard’s Glow-y Powders better be one of them!
